Allan laughed with him for a moment. It was easy to forget in the bouts of laughter - everything, for a moment, was all in one place and it was light, but moments later Eshen was sobbing into his chest and that was somehow equally just as fine.
Allan wrapped his arms around him, holding the other there with him for what felt like an eternity as he felt his own shirt get soaked, but that was more than okay. He was used to it - in other contexts, of course, but that didn't make it much different. In fact, he was still holding him when Eshen spoke again.
"Ruin?" In a good way, Eshen had clarified, but Allan still smiled down at the other. "I mean.. you could phrase it that way, sure, but in my mind.. and mind me, this might just be me being an engineer or something, but I think of it more as... an upgrade?" He chuckled, not sure if that made any sense, but continued nonetheless. "I mean, in English the word 'boyfriend' is still... it's still got the word friend in there for some reason," He knew nothing about etymology, but he could try to sound like he did at least.
When Eshen mentioned the possibility of a mind meld. The smile fell from his face for a moment, due to things that T'alea had experienced, and felt, and that he had - also, to a degree, when she did the same, but he smiled again when he realized the reason he'd done that in the first place with her, and the reason he'd be willing to do that with Eshen, regardless of the things that came with it. "You could if you wanted," he spoke after a minute of thinking about it, "the way I see it... experiencing that sort of thing, that sort of pain, even for... for such a small moment, to understand you, and what you feel every day, it's... it's a good deal, on my end," he said sincerely, "and, um... as I - well, I didn't say it earlier, actually, because I was ... also afraid, I guess, just a bit, but..." Yikes. Admitting he was ever afraid? That was hard. Oof.
